The meeting recommended Lin Tao, President of the Guangdong Council for the Promotion of International Trade (Guangdong International Chamber of Commerce), as the Chairman of the Alliance, and 20 entrepreneurs such as Hou Jianxiong and Cai Haiming as Vice Chairmen.

According to customs statistics, in 2015, the total trade volume between Guangdong and the seven South Asian countries reached 21.958.7 billion US dollars, an increase of over 20% year-on-year; In 2016, the total trade volume between Guangdong and the seven South Asian countries reached US $24.963.1 billion, an increase of 13.7%.
