The Third Meeting of the Second Council of the Beijing International Chamber of Commerce was Successfully Held

On the afternoon of March 1, 2013, the third meeting of the second council of the Beijing International Chamber of Commerce was held in Beijing. Before the council, Xiong Jiuling, President of the Beijing International Chamber of Commerce, presided over the Beijing International Chamber of Commerce President's Office Meeting. At the council meeting, the changes in the members of the Chamber of Commerce and the changes in the main responsible persons of the working organization were reported; The list of new members, 2012 work report, and 2013 main work were reviewed and approved. Lin Bin, Vice President and Secretary General of the Beijing International Chamber of Commerce, presided over the council, and over a hundred chamber members attended the meeting.


Looking back at the work of the Chamber of Commerce in 2012, Lin Bin, Vice President and Secretary General of the Beijing International Chamber of Commerce, introduced that the work of the Beijing International Chamber of Commerce has made breakthroughs in five aspects, focusing on the strategic goal of building a world city and an international business center and member needs: first, leveraging its own advantages and vigorously expanding new channels for international economic and trade exchanges; 2、 Strengthen cooperation and exchange to create new opportunities for members' international development; 3、 Increase publicity efforts and expand the international influence of member brands; 4、 Strengthen service awareness and solidly provide members with comprehensive international economic and trade professional services; 5、 Transforming concepts and making new progress in the internal construction of the Chamber of Commerce.


Regarding the work of the Beijing International Chamber of Commerce in 2013, Xiong Jiuling, the President of the Beijing International Chamber of Commerce, proposed five key points: firstly, to focus on the international business needs of enterprises and launch more vibrant and effective service projects. For example, researching and formulating a work directory for the services of the Chamber of Commerce, strengthening high-level professional training, and strengthening foreign-related legal services; Secondly, actively expanding international exchanges, the second Beijing International Friendship Chamber of Commerce Conference will be held in September this year, further expanding the influence of the Beijing International Chamber of Commerce in the international business community; The third is to adapt to the requirements of the information age, open up a fast lane of information services, apply network technology to the international economic and trade information consulting services of the Chamber of Commerce, develop new business service content on the network platform, and comprehensively improve the service level of the International Chamber of Commerce; The fourth is to effectively play the intermediary role of the Chamber of Commerce organization, and do a good job of communication and coordination between enterprises and the government. For example, assisting enterprises in advising relevant departments and helping them understand relevant policy information; The fifth is to gather the advantageous resources of member units, plan and organize innovative and popular brand activities.


In order to help member enterprises accurately grasp the current domestic and international economic situation, formulate and implement effective response measures, this meeting also invited Researcher Wang Yiming, Executive Vice President of the Macroeconomic Research Institute of the National Development and Reform Commission and Advisor to the Beijing International Chamber of Commerce, to give a special report titled "2013 Global Economic Situation and the Internationalization Development of Chinese Enterprises". President Wang emphasized that in order to address challenges and improve their competitiveness, Enterprises should achieve three transformations, namely innovating their business models, improving their research and development capabilities, and pursuing a quality and brand approach. President Wang's report is rich in content, with a broad perspective, strong foresight, pertinence, and practicality, and has received unanimous praise from the attending directors.
