The "the Belt and Road" China UK Trade Cooperation Opportunities Seminar was successfully held

       On July 12, the "the Belt and Road" Sino British Trade Cooperation Opportunities Seminar co sponsored by the Shenzhen Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the British China Trade Association was successfully held in the International Exchange Hall of the International Chamber of Commerce Building in Shenzhen. Ye Jiande, director of the Shenzhen Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Bi Wei, deputy director of cutting-edge manufacturing and transportation industries and chief business consul of the British Department of International Trade attended the seminar and delivered speeches; Yao Ling, Deputy Director of the Institute of European and Eurasian Studies of the Institute of International Trade and Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Commerce, delivered a speech on promoting the construction of the "the Belt and Road" and advocating a new model of international economic cooperation; Ding Jiefu, President of the British Chinese Trade Association in China, introduced the new model and new ideas of China UK cooperation in the "the Belt and Road" and the characteristics of the southern Silk Road to the participants on the spot. Through keynote speeches, case studies, group discussions and other forms, the meeting discussed in depth the cooperation and opportunities of China UK trade under the "the Belt and Road" framework. It has attracted more than 120 Chinese and foreign enterprises, including Advanced Business Park (London) Investment Co., Ltd., Atkins, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Standard Chartered Bank, KPMG, Coleridge&Partners, Andras Architectural Design, Jardine Matheson Insurance Brokerage Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Yantian Port Group Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Innovation Investment Group Co., Ltd., to participate in the whole process.

  The joint research report on China UK cooperation under the the Belt and Road framework released during the forum encourages British and Chinese companies to become partners and jointly participate in projects along the the Belt and Road. With the continuous development of relations between China and the UK, economic and trade exchanges between the two countries are moving towards a wider range and higher level. In 2016, the total import and export volume of Shenzhen to the UK exceeded 6.2 billion US dollars; Internationally renowned companies such as HSBC, BP Petroleum, and Standard Chartered Bank have invested and established businesses in Shenzhen; Shenzhen's China Merchants International, Ping An Bank, Huawei, ZTE, BYD, CIMC and other enterprises have also conducted investment cooperation in the UK, including telecommunications network deployment, new energy vehicle manufacturing, and nuclear power plant construction.
